carpenter's tool made of whalebone and tropical hardwood. Marked on butt of handle -
"G.F." The whalebone is tenoned through the handle.
American
origin - Circa 1825 - 1850.
Very
good condition with old cracks and normal wear - a rich dark patina on the whalebone.
